Cat runs laps in house! Help!?

I got a cat from a pound rescue last year and she has been fixed, and all of her immunizations, etc. She is completely healthy, maybe a little overweight now but that's it. um... ok... I just brought a bag down from upstairs and I found out just now that it had a broken compact fourescent lightbulb in it. I heard that these things contain mercury and I'm a little concerned. I've had the bag upstairs for a while, months even, and I have no idea if it got broken in there, or somewhere else. Sony vs. Alpine in car speakers?

so I'm thinking of replacing some old alpine speakers in this old car that I got. The Alpine head unit says 40 x 4 speakers and that was just not enough for me. I think your idea is pretty much what I would come up with, but you should also put a door flap on it to keep the cold from coming in. I put one on my dogs house every winter and it helps insulate it because there is no longer a huge opening to let the cold in. I don't know how big your project is going to be, but you could probably use an old lid from a plastic container, and key chain rings to put it on the house. Just drill some holes in the wood over the opening to your dog house, and drill holes on the plastic lid that will match up to the holes on the dog house and attach it with the key rings. It would make a big difference.

I think I've heard this before, but I'm not sure. I know that you have to flip the switch and leave it for like 10 minutes, then flip the next and leave it, and so forth. Turn them off and go into the next room and either check the after glow, or feel for heat on the light bulbs and use that as a measure to determine which lightbulb is which, as you put it.

Can I add a 12" Kicker L5 to my Kenwood excelon x1200 amp and single 15" alpine type R for more bass/spl?

Nees more bass want my system to hit harder and have the chance to get a realy good deal on the kicker solo.. Currently have a dual 2ohm single 15" alpine type r running at 4ohms in a pirted box getting roughly 800watts rms.. Trued wiring the sub to a 1ohm load but the kenwood cant handle it even thou they claim its 1ohm stable so im figuring the best I can do with it is a 2ohm load so il have to make sure the kicker is also a dual 2ohm to get a funal 2ohm impedance.. So im wondering will this give ne more bass or will it just take away power from my 15" and leave me with the same amount of bass/spl or less than I already have? Most CFL's are not designed to dim. They are either "on" of "off". There are dimmable CFL's available, but they don't work as well as incandescents. There are subtle voltage variations in your service, and this may result in the light unexpectedly turning on and off. It's not a safety issue, it's a functional issue. Hope this helps.

I've never blown a speaker/sub in my life and i usually run SLIGHTLY higher then what's recommended (assuming you tune it properly to asses what is SLIGHTLY more) if you want to play the safe side, you can turn the gains (input sensitivity knob) slightly lower so that you're getting the exact 40 rms.

Why are my guinea pigs so shy when they are out of their cage?

My original amp an mtx jackhammer 1200 watt max got fried due to a leak in my trunk. First I am wondering if my subwoofer is fine and which amp I should now choose. To answer part of your questions...the lights switch does not require a ground to operate, but is optional as security. Light switches operate by closing one NORMALLY OPEN circuit wire to allow voltage to those lights. You can perform a test by running a loop between the switch pair of wires that are connected parallel. If the lights turn ON, then replace the switch. If this does not do for you, then your electrician was right when he said that there's a most serious issue to take care. You must call back that money hungry electrician again...! Good luck...!

Want to run my 2fronts (Alpine Type S 50watt Rms 150peak i believe not totaly sure) and 2rear deck (Memphis Pr-692 60watts Rms 120peak) if I remember right the kenwood puts out 170watts per channel at 4ohms and 500watts at 4ohm bridged, niw I figured half of 170watts wuld be 85watts so figured both the alpine and memphis culd handle 85watts a piece seeing that im not over the peak power or wuld running 2speakers in 1channel not break the 170watts in half like would I end up with an uneven amount? Leopard gecko question?

i have a baby leopard gecko he is in a 20 gallon tank. i have an UTH that stays on 24 hrs/day and is supposed to be for a 15 or 10 gallon tank. the UTH is right below his warm hide where he usually stays. its below the tank and reptile carpet and its not actually in the tank (the people said to put it there and i read it needs to be 1/4" away from the gecko) is this warm enough? i also use a regular lamp and lightbulb that i use about 12 hrs during the day. i am going to get a thermometer. but if its not warm enough i really dont wanna go buy another UTH but could i get a red infarred heating lightbulb to raise the temperature a few degrees? if anything i feel as if the warm side is at most only a couple degrees cooler than it should be. so will the red bulb heat it up to where it needs to be? thanks!

2002 Monte Carlo - Stereo Wiring/Stock Amplifier PLEASE HELP :0?

To start, I am terrible with factory wiring. I understand the basics of stereo systems and new wiring, just not the original stuff.... I have a 02 Monte Carlo, and I just bought a new pair of Alpine component speakers to replace the front two stock speakers. I have noticed, however, that the front stock speakers handle primarily only mids and highs, and the rear speakers handle primarily bass. Is this just the stock speakers, or is the the wiring? Could it also be the stock amplifier? I want to get a full signal going to the front speakers if it isn't already so, so how would I do this?

How Do I Handle 11-Month Old Chihuahua Aggression?

I have been very consistent in training my chihuahua, who is now currently 11 months old and 9 lbs. He has been with me since 12-weeks and was neutered as a young puppy as he had started to exhibit certain behaviours (humping objects, etc) that led it to be advised. He is crate trained, potty trained, social and friendly in the dog park, but has exhibited aggressive behaviours from time to time. He is not allowed on the furniture, is made to wait for humans to enter doors first, and must sit or do other tricks to be rewarded or served his food. However, his aggression has been most seen around food, guarding his crate, guarding me, or when people pet him. Before, he would always want attention from others, but now he will be comfortable receiving a pet but then suddenly turns and snaps, warding off whoever is petting him. My boyfriend, who lives with us, is the most frequent victim. This past weekend, after getting picked up from the train station, I was sitting with my mother and the dog in the back seat of the car. She was petting and he suddenly tensed up and tried to bite her. Prior, he had always been very calm and well behaved in the car. On another occasion, while sitting on my boyfriend's lap in the car, my boyfriend was holding him and moved his hands slightly and the dog began to growl. I'd don't know if this is fear based or territorial. But the behaviour is very fickle and changes quickly. He will be accepting one minute, then suddenly tense and upset. He has been examined recently with a good bill of health. This behaviour is never exhibited towards me. After he lashes out, he instantly gets embarrassed, will lower his head in submission, and know that he has done something wrong. But he will still possibly lash out if anyone is in his space. I'm worried as this behaviour is new, as in the past few weeks, and I want to nip it in the bud. In regards to his aggression in the crate, I've had my boyfriend casually drop treats into the crate when the dog is resting inside, and speaking kindly to him. This is slowly improving and he is more accepting of people's presence near his crate. However, the other moments when he snaps are concerning me. If anyone has any advice-- please let me know. I have also been seeing a behaviorist to assist, but wanted to gather additional feedback.

Punishments for 6 year old?

My step son is 6, going on 7. His mom and stepdad have told me things they do that work at home to punish him (we have him during the week right now whereas usually he's just with us on the weekends.) I take care of him and his older sister while their dad is at work during the day and even though I've been caring for him since before he was 2, it's like he's suddenly forgotten how to listen to me. I've tried time-outs with nose in the corner to sitting on the couch and not being able to play to even letting his sister take care of it when he hurts her. Nothing is working and I'm out of ideas. As a step-mom I don't feel comfortable spanking and while I may do it when my own child is old enough and misbehaving like he is, I honestly don't think it would even work with my stepson. Recently I've been making him run laps around our backyard (not that big) but it seems like he dreads doing it but doesn't really care that he has to when he does get in trouble. I guess what I'm looking for is creative (non corporal) punishments that will work for a child who seems not to care when he does get in trouble. Any ideas?

honestly you wont find good sq midbass for that cheap. car audio is really defined by "you get what you pay for" if you want great sound quality you really should look into custom door panels with 10'' midbass and a set of 4'' components in there with them, and also doing your kicks like you said. one key thing is to not switch up brands/models of speakers because it can throw the sound off. key is doing the fronts to where they sound good and doing a mirrored image of what you did in the front, but in the rear. my suggestion would be to look at pioneer's new phase 4 line (i think its phase 4? or something dumb like that). its pretty pricey but well worth it. pioneer decks are also the best ive come across and ive had every brand from jvc to clarion to alpine to kenwood to you name it ive had it. seriously check out pioneer's new line tho its good ****. if you have the money tho hands down go with focal tho thats where true sq is at.

You need the first thermometer (digital probe thermometer).. That's actually the same I have. The warm end should be 90-95 floor temp. If it ends up too cold, that does not mean get a new light bulb. In fact, I would take the one you're currently using out too. Leopard gecko's heat "sensors" are on their belly, so they only can feel heat from the belly. If it's too hot over head, they can't feel that to know to get over to the cool side. They're also nocturnal, so regular bulbs aren't always the best idea during the day. If your temperature is too low, get a new heat mat that will cover 1/3 to 1/2 of the tank floor (if yours doesn't) , and it will be warmer. If you insist on a light, a red heat bulb (no UV or any of that expensive stuff.. And they can't see red.) over the warm hide should be okay, as long as the light isn't directly over the gecko's head.

Petsmart and sometimes even walmart have "plant bulbs" for 5 gallons. If you don't want to buy any specialty lighting then this is about the best you can get. It will be fine for the moss ball and nana and should work for the others if your current light is. The duckweed is probably not the best for your 5 gallon it'll multiply too quickly and prevent the rest of the plants from getting sufficient light. It is normal for wisteria to grow roots while floating. If you let it float you'll have the same problem with it shading the rest of the plants as you will with the duckweed but if you plant it it may die so you'll have to work out a balance there. After the other plants get going you may want to remove it.

Okay last night I went to my best friends bday party. We were watching movies all night and her brother came downstairs and started watching the movies with us. I go talk to other people again but then me him and my best friend(his sis) are the only ones awake. So i go and sit in the chair thats really big for one person but small for two ppl. My bff comes and sits on the stool/leg rest thing in front of the chair. So he then comes up and sits right next to me!!! There is again no space between us! He puts his blanket over me and him, and immediatly holds my hand! After a while he lets go, but with the same hand puts it around my waist lower back. With the other hand he hold my hand again. He lets go after a while and puts his arm over my stomach to latch with his other arm/hand. We laid like this for a while watching tv,and him occasionally putting his head on my shoulder. We switched from holding hands to this for a while like an hour i would say! It was SO sweet! He then starts brushing my face with his hand so i knew he was about to kiss me, he slowly turns my head but i didnt want to go that far yet since i just met him last night. So i just shook my head no and he said okay and was totally cool with it but i think he was kinda bummed out. So he just held my hand and kissed my hand! Then cuddled for a while till their dad got home! He jumped up and sat on the ground next to where the chair was. Their dad went upstairs and my bffs bro was going to goto bed so he said goodnight to his sister and then went behind me and kissed me on the head! I have a lot to tell so please read if you want to be any assistance. I have not known her that long we just met this school year, and after like 3 weeks of knowing her due to idiotic stunts of friends she found out I liked her. Strange thing is instead of avoiding me like I'd expect she came closer to me, and when I denied liking her she said "You know you like me, don't lie to yourself." She began talking to me more, but at the same time she would say weird things like at first she would always say hi and literaly every time i went down the hallway she would be somewhere on my path with a huge smile to say hi. Her friend always says hi to me too. And one time when we were talking and her best friend kept looking at us and laughing. Then later on she would always tell me to calm down and then she would always say "hey when did you get here?" She would say that almost 1000 times a day. After that she stopped saying things and it became her doing things. Ok so i sat right by the pencil sharpener and at least 3 times a class (I begin counting and it was never under 3) she would come to the back and sharpen her pencil which takes about 10 seconds. She would stand there for about a minute then slowly walk back to her seat. Sometimes but not often as she walked back we would exchange smiles and one time she told me i had a nice gleaming smile. So one day I had to go into a room of a class she was in and i was like I'm like i'm going to test this out. So I went to get the bag I was suppose to be getting and went by the pencil sharpener and in about 2 seconds she got up to sharpen her pencil. Somethings wrong with me heart?

Ever since about 8th grade(will now be in 10th) sometimes i feel like my heart is off beat and painful. Yesturday I was in the pool swimming some laps with my friends. When I got done for just one beat I felt it like idk do something. and it felt like a "pop". Ive been to the doctor once specifically about heart discomfort. Can maxing out a new Alpine Type R damage it?

On the deck(ALPINE CDE-124SXM) the subwoofer is at 15(max), bass is at neutral, and the volume is at 22. The amp is a MRP-M500(500watt rms), with the gain and everything set to max. The sub is a 12" Alpine Type R(600watt rms), new straight from the store. I've noticed from the volume at 20-25 the bass is the same, so I am assuming that it is at its max. Could playing it for an hour have damage it?

You need to find a lot of patience and stamina. I honestly know that these past two months have been very long and hard. But, you have to understand that it's going to take a lot longer than two months. With both of your children, you and your husband need to be the ONLY ones doing the caretaking. I'm sure the polks did blow the alpine away because there's two of them and they are 2" bigger. I would use the Kicker or the Alpine mainly because they are name brand. The bigger companies subs last a whole lot longer and sound better (my opinion). I had 2 10" Pioneers in my truck with a dual 750 Pioneer amp (1500 total). I traded up to get 12" Pioneers and the same amp. It hits great. I recommend pioneer but since you don't have that there I would say the Kicker.

Tricks 2 burping a stubborn baby?

I have a 3 week old baby girl and I haves tried EVERYTHING 2 try and burp her and nothing seems 2 be working!! She burps once in a while and I was told that it was normal since I breastfeed her, but once I lay her down after not burping her sooner or later she throws up! I've tried over the shoulder, over my lap on her tummy, sitting her up and patting her back while supporting her head, bringing her knees 2 her chest, lifting her arms and nothing. Sometimes when I alternate these methods she does eventually burp but most of the time she does not and she starts getting pretty fussy the longer I try burping. So are there any tricks or different ways that work well and fast that can help me? Thanks.

Weight loss over summer?

Over the summer I was hoping to lose about 20 pounds. I've been trying to reduce my caloric intake and eat better (healthier, smaller portions, less snacking, etc.) I've also increased my exercise seeing that I have a lot more time without school and I also swim laps for an hour a day three days a week (not much, but still) Anyway, I was wondering if 20 pounds is a realistic goal to reach over the summer (two full months plus about two weeks) or am I aiming too high? If it's not realistic, what would be a better goal. Summer is the easiest time for me to lose weight, last summer I was able to drop about 17 pounds (I didn't feel much thinner so it was probably mostly water weight but I'm just going by what the scale says =/)

Im about to be getting a larger tank and i would like to add live plants to it. Is there a type of substrate i can use to help them grow and keep them alive? And is there a certain type of lightbulb i can use also? The last times i have tried planted aquariums they would only last maybe a month and start to turn yellow and die off. Ever owned a Devon Rex?

Sorry, there is a very famous quote, " The word Pandemonium can be described as four Devon Rex and a staircase" which basically means they are the most hyperactive destructive little demon cats you have ever seen! It helps if you have more then one Devon, that way they have someone to interact with who is as hyper and destructive as they are, believe it or not it curbs their interest in destroying your property and body. As for down time, you picked the wrong breed for that, Oscar and Cookie, my Devons have personalities that more resemble a Meth addicted Jack Russell, I know it is hard but, eventually you will find something to distract them. They can be lovable , if not a little insane, a spray bottle of water helps to curb there destructive streak, at least momentarily, until you find something else.

lol ... you forgot to say what kind of car it is ... well most cars would be ok with those 2 amplifiers . you will be using about 80 amps at full volume for the amplifiers . Most cars these days have a 110A alternator. It should be ok if yours is 110A+ . you may have a little dimming of lights at night . If you have a car with a 90A alternator ..... you prob wanna buy a second battery, high amp relay (they make a 80A version ) , and a second fuse to put near the second battery . hope that helps .

i just started working out and i have a routine i will keep till summer is over. mon,wed,fri i will ride bike to club lift weights then bike to school wich is realy close to club and run around the track each week i will increase a lap around track.tue,thurs,sun i will do more cardio endurance things that i learned in my sports conditioning class this year. and after each workout i will swim some laps increasing every week and i will take a break sat. other than randomly doing push ups and situps during rest of day should i do anhything else that will help me loose weight? im making huge cuts on eating habbits and will do watever i can to loose 50 or more pounds in the next month and a half. wen would the best time of day be to workout? i start my workouts at 7:30am. i weigh 278.6pounds im 16 but keep in mind i have some good muscle and have been playing sports my whole life. so im probably one of the most athletic fat person out there lol. please any suggestions would be much appreciated.thank you

i would do the 2 alpine type R 12's because they will have the more usable power out of the amp. I also would recommend the P3's as they are 500 rms but both brands of subs can take a little more power than what they are rated. I would put them in a ported box and wire them in a 2 ohm set up and you will be heard a block or more, make sure you dynamat your trunk otherwise people will be hearing a rattling vehicle before they hear the bass lol

Sore muscles, please help?

I've been working out at the gym rigorously for the last few days. However i wasn't feeling like I was gaining any progress because I only experienced little soreness afterwards. Yesterday I decided to do dumbell lunges. I did about two laps with ten pound weights. I was sore afterwards, but today I'm twice as sore. I tried to work out again today but I couldn't. I could hardly walk. Usually my thighs have a lot of cellulite but today i have purple pigments under my skin. Its weird and im in so much pain. Please help.
