Sony vs. Alpine in car speakers?

so I'm thinking of replacing some old alpine speakers in this old car that I got. The Alpine head unit says 40 x 4 speakers and that was just not enough for me. So what I'm asking is should I get a new pair of alpines or should I upgrade to Sony. Which one gives more quality and which one is cheaper (and since I'm on a budget of around $150 for head unit and speaker). And if you guys want to recommend any other brand feel free to do so. Thanks
