Amp rms more than speakers?

No it will not hurt the speakers. I've never blown a speaker/sub in my life and i usually run SLIGHTLY higher then what's recommended (assuming you tune it properly to asses what is SLIGHTLY more) if you want to play the safe side, you can turn the gains (input sensitivity knob) slightly lower so that you're getting the exact 40 rms.
