Question about heating a corn snake tank?

im getting one soon but im getting mixed answers, =/ im keeping the snake in my bed room, one person told me if i use a lightbulb for heat i can turn it off at night (no heat source at night) this makes sense though because in the wild they cant have sun at night. i also thought about just having a heating pad instead of lightbulbs but i hear they can burn my snake, also i wouldn't know if it burned out. whats the best option? i definitely need my room DARK at night to sleep
