Will i be able to run a 1000w RMS amp of my standard car battery or will i need some sort of upgrade?

i will be running a 1000w RMS audiobahn sub on something like an alpine MRX-M100 or a VIBE deep space box 1, a guy my mate knows reckons ill ahve to use slow release battery cells or something?
