Does a incandescent bulb last longer if you don't turn it off?

I remember reading from a credible source that an incandescent lasts a lot longer if you don't turn it off. Is this true? Not from a cost point of view but purely say if I were to burn a light bulb for 90 days non stop v. would the same lightbulb turned on and off again die over the course of 60 days
