Do insurances like Cen cal or Medical cover lap band?

I am wondering if Medical or Cencal cover the lap band or gastric bypass surgery. My friend is trying to find the easiest way to get the procedure. She has a BMI of 32 or 33 and hastriedd manyweight losss options and it never helps. Should she pay for a new medical insurance and try to get the procedure done? Or does the Medical thing cover it?
